According to data released by the Italian steel producers association Federacciai, the country’s exports of steel long products to the non-EU countries totaled 3.954 million tons in the January-September period, decreasing by 7.9% year on year. At the same time, Italy’s imports of steel long products from the non-EU countries totaled 5.355 million tons, jumping by 17% year on year. In thee given period of time, Italy’s imports of steel flat products from the non-EU countries jumped by 32.7% while the exports dropped by 19.3%, both compared to the figures in the same period of 2012.
