According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute, in October this year Turkey's steel scrap imports rose 13.2% compared to September and were up 13.8% compared to the same month of 2011 amounting to 2 million tonnes.
Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of 2012 Turkey's scrap imports amounted to 18.9 million tonnes increasing by 8.36% compared to the same period of the previous year. Scrap imports from the US in the first 10 months of the year amounted to 5.36 million tonnes rising by 13% YoY.
