According to data released by the Brazilian steel institute (IABr), Brazil’s production of rolled steel products totaled 2.29 million tons, up by 5% month on month and rising by 4% year on year.
In May, the country’s crude steel output totaled 3.01 million tons in May, increasing by 3% from a month ago and rising by 5.5% year on year.
Meanwhile, the domestic sales of all steel products totaled 2 million tons, increasing by 3.4% year on year,
At the same time, Brazil’s exports of all steel products amounted to 608,800 tons with values of US$508 million.
