Activity is basically halted in all EU countries because of the festivities of end of the Year.
Prices are remaining at same levels of previous week, except for merchant bars that, under the pressure of Beltrame, are climbing in direction of EUR 200 per tonne basis.
We’ll see, after reopening, during 2nd and 3rd week of January if this is a theoretic increase or is going to settle as new bench mark.
Russian Hrc suppliers have terminated offers of January production & February shipment, at levels around EUR 460 per tonne to EUR 470 per tonne basis LC at sight. But Market did not report of any significant booking at such levels and again only after January reopening we’ll see if the trend will keep the positive sign.
