According to statistics released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, the country's exports of finished steel products totaled 1.253 million tons in January, falling by 9.7% year on year. Among them, the exports of steel flat products decreased by 13.2%; those of steel long products dropped by 6.4%, both compared to those in the same period of a year ago. Meanwhile, Italy's imports of finished steel products were at 1.331 million tons, increasing by 25.2% year on year. In January, the country's imports of steel flat products rose by 35%; those of steel long products increased by 18%, both compared to the figures in the same period of the previous year.
