Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas reported net income of R$115 million (US$52.5 million) in the third quarter following two consecutive quarterly losses and a net loss of US$22.1 million in Q3 2012.
Net revenues totaled R$3.20 billion in Q3 2013, down 1 percent year-on-year.
Usiminas sold 1.57 million tons of steel in the quarter, roughly flat year-on-year, while iron sales climbed to 1.85 million tons from 1.37 million in the year-ago quarter.
