Reportedly, the European steel mills are seeking to raise the prices to improve profits.
It’s learned that ex-factory prices for hot rolled coils (HRC) decreased to €440/ton in North European market last week, the lowest level since February, 2010.
It’s said that ThyssenKrupp sought to increase steel prices early this month but it failed due to low-priced imports.
However, industry sources the European steel mills still try to raise prices in order to improve profits.
