A high rate of returned pallets in Germany, a greater supply of used pallets from Poland, and intensive settlement of pallet accounts at the end of last year have led to a temporary turnaround on the used-pallet market in the last few weeks. A largely consistent level of demand for used EUR pallets at the beginning of the year in comparison to the fourth quarter coincides with unexpectedly high supply at the beginning of the year. Until the beginning of February, the imbalance on the used-pallet market caused the uplift that had begun in prices for used pallets in mid-2009 to come to a standstill to start with.
