One of the leading denim manufacturers in India, Suryalakshmi Cotton Mills Ltd, reported its quarterly profit & revenue numbers with a 13.41% rise in revenue and a massive 29.74% jump in the net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.
While the company saw its net profit touching Rs. 870 cr for the second Quarter, which shows a 29.74% rise over the corresponding period last year, its sales increased by nearly 13.41% to Rs. 19277 cr in the reporting quarter.
The revenue for the half year ended on September 30, 2012 rose by 9.53% from Rs. 332.53 Cr to Rs. 364.24 Cr during the corresponding period of the previous year.
Net Profit during the half year increased significantly by 5.28% from Rs. 16.32 Cr to Rs. 17.18 Cr during the corresponding period in the last fiscal.
The Managing Director, Mr. Paritosh Agarwal, Suryalakshmi Cotton Mills Ltd commenting on the performance said, "We are extremely glad to come out with good set of numbers. We have recently commenced operations of our 2S-MW captive power plant at our denim division at Ramtek near Nagpur. With few expansions in queue & the festive season in progress, we expect a fresh demand from both the domestic & international markets which will help us boost our performance in the coming quarters as well.
