According to the latest report of Latin American Steel Association (Alacero), the region imported 4 million tons of steel products from China from this January to September, which means an increase of 23% compare to same period last year. In Q3 this year, this growing tendency is significant. The volume of flat steel from China into this region reached historic high: 1.5 million tons, an increase of 26.3% from the same period last year. Even though volume of long product is much less: 308,000 tons, but the growth rate is almost 100%. The top three destiny Latin American countries of Chinese steel products are Brazil, Chile and Peru; however, Ecuador, Cuba and Paraguay have stronger import growth rate.
