According to data released by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan’s industrial production rose by 1.3% month on month in September and increased by 5.1% year on year. In September, the country’s iron and steel production index was up by 3.9% year on year and the seasonally adjusted iron and steel production index rose 1.4% from a month ago. In the third quarter of this year, Japan’s iron and steel production index was up by 0.3% year on year while the seasonally adjusted iron and steel production index dropped by 2.4% from the previous quarter.
