CSC May Leave EF Al-Killed Wire Rod Prices Have Remained Flat in The Chinese Market

China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest carbon steelmaker in Taiwan is going to release its list price for electric furnace (EF) Al-killed wire rods for February on January 16th.

Industry sources predicted that CSC might leave its list price for EF Al-killed wire rods unchanged for February as the raw material prices have stabilized and the steel wire prices have remained flat in the Chinese market.

It’s learned that the iron ore prices have stayed at the level of US$134/ton recently and the quotes of the US container HMS 80:20 (1&2) to Taiwan have remained at US$377/ton CFR.

At the same time, the steel wire prices have remained flat in the Chinese steel market.

Last year, CSC cut list price for EF Al-killed wire rods by a total of NT$800/ton.

At present, the list price is at NT$20,400/ton now, the lowest level since CSC launched the products into the Taiwanese market in March, 2010. Meanwhile, the actual selling price is at NT$19,200~NT$19,900/ton.
