Italian printing and converting machines manufacturer Nuova Gidue has sold two flexographic printing presses to different companies in the US.
The company has delivered the Gidue M5 430 with eight color stations and die-cutting to Diversified Label Images of Birmingham, while it sold the Gidue M5 630 with nine color stations and die-cutting to Traco Manufacturing of Orem.
Said to be scheduled for installation during early 2014, the flexographic printing presses are claimed to be multi-substrate capable and feature the Gidue Flower print deck design.
Gidue USA president Mat Jones said the technology is new to North America and fits well with the company's lean manufacturing culture.
"It will take time, effort and education for the advantages of Digital FlexoTM to become well known here in the US, but the advantages are considerable and that is simply impossible to keep a secret," Jones added.
