Leeds-Based Marpak Is to Increase Production by 25 Tonnes a Week

Leeds-based Marpak is to increase production by 25 tonnes a week and said that demand has steadily increased following a series of successful product trials in northern Europe.

According to Marpak, its 'Growth through Innovation' programme is in conjunction with the refining and chemicals division of Total. The company has diversified its products including the Lumicene range. Marpak added that this has provided cost savings to the business.

Marpak managing director, Richard Gibson said: "With ever changing market conditions and increasing prices to our customers, Marpak has invested heavily in the research and trialling of high performance products, working closely with Total to improve value to our customers and stay at the forefront of flexible packaging. This has led to our organic growth and our increased workforce. We couldn't be more pleased."

Marpak also attributed its move into new European markets to the programme, citing it as being "fundamental in developing key relationships with global manufacturers". The company has a turnover of £15m.
