MOC:The Overall Average Finished Steel Price in China Rose by 0.6 Percent

On April 15, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (Apr. 7-13) the overall average finished steel price in China rose by 0.6 percent compared to the previous week.

In the given week, the average prices of high-speed wire rod, hot rolled strip and hot rolled common sheet in China rose by 0.8 percent, 0.8 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively, week on week.

In the week ending April 13, the average price of minerals in China remained on an overall stable trend compared to the previous week. In particular, the average price of tungsten ore declined by 1.7 percent, while the average prices of copper ore, zinc ore and tin ore moved up by one percent, one percent and 0.2 percent respectively, week on week. Meanwhile, the average price of iron ore remained stable compared to the previous week.

In the given week, the average price of non-ferrous metals in China was up 1.3 percent compared to the previous week.

In addition, in the week in question, the average price of energy in China decreased by 0.4 percent week on week. The average prices of brown coal, bituminous coal and anthracite coal remained stable in the given week. Meanwhile, the average prices of crude oil and coke decreased by 2.7 percent and 1.8 percent respectively, both week on week.
