According to data released by the Turkey’s Steel Exporters’ Association (CIB), Turkey’s exports of steel products totaled 1.68 million tons in May, up by 1.2% from a month ago and increasing by 0.1% year on year.
Meanwhile, the country’s sales revenues generated by steel products were at US$1.28 billion in May, up by 2.4% from April.
In May, the Middle East was the largest importer of the Turkish steel products with 800,000 tons; Latin America was the second largest one with 176,000 tons and the EU was the third largest one with 158,000 tons.
In the first five months of this year, Turkey’s exports of steel products totaled 8.5 million tons, rising by 4.25% year on year.
In the given period of time, the country’s export revenues generated by steel products were at US$6.36 billion, falling by 3.4% year on year.
