Canadian dairy giant Saputo is seeking acquisitions across the US, Canada, Latin America and Australia, in a move to expand its footprint.
The potential acquisitions in the US are expected to cost around C$4bn ($3.65bn), while Canadian acquisitions may cost around C$100m ($91.28m).
Saputo is also planning to expand its presence in the Australia, besides Latin American countries such as Brazil.
The company has already acquired 88% stake in Australia-based Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory Company, in a deal worth C$449.6m ($410.9m).
Through these potential acquisitions, the company is planning to boost its milk and cheese production capacity.
Saputo has witnessed a 18% rise in adjusted net earnings to C$152.8m ($140.2m) in the first quarter of this year.
During the same quarter, the company's revenues have decreased by 21%.
Saputo produces, markets, and distributes various dairy products in Canada, the US, Argentina, and internationally. It offers fluid milk, powered milk, evaporated milk, as well as a range of dairy products.
