Keeping in mind the firm prices in New York, the demand for Upland cotton was quite restricted so that hardly any contracts could be closed.
The interest was rather focused on long and extra-long staple cotton.
Some inquiries as well as sales were registered in this area during the reported week.
Contracts were concluded for:
-Medium Staple Cotton: West Africa and Central Asia for prompt.
-Long- and Extra-Long Staple cotton: Sudan Barakat and Spanish ELS for prompt up to the 2nd quarter 2014. Giza 86 for prompt up to the 3rd quarter 2014. US Pima for the 4th quarter 2014.
