German automaker Audi has partnered with its Chinese joint-venture partner FAW to introduce a plug-in hybrid car, Audi A6 e-tron4, in China.
Based on the long-wheelbase version of the Audi A6, the new model is powered by latest battery technology.
Focusing on a holistic approach to reduce CO2 emissions, all the systems and components in the new hybrid vehicles are coordinated to work together optimally. The vehicle features two types of drive system of the plug-in hybrid technology.
The A6 e-tron4 full-size sedan will be manufactured within the joint venture by FAW-Volkswagen in Changchun, China.
FAW-Volkswagen president Zhang Pijie said that Audi and FAW have been cooperating closely for more than 25 years.
"Together, we have built up the premium segment in China. Now we are cooperating on the next generation of automobiles," Pijie added.
