Avantha Has Synchronised The First Unit of 2x600-mv Coal-based Power Project at Raigarh

Avantha Power & Infrastructure Ltd has synchronised the first unit of its 2x600-mw coal-based power project at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh project. The project, developed by a wholly-owned subsidiary Korba West Power Company Ltd, marks Avantha Group's entry into commercial power generation.

APIL began construction in August 2010 and executed the project in 38 months. BHEL supplied the BTG package for the project. The fuel supply agreement has been signed with South Eastern Coalfields Ltd in this year for feeding the plant with uninterrupted coal supply.   Avantha Group Power Portfolio Location Capacity (MW) Total

With the first unit of Korba plant, the company's generation capacity now stands at 626 mw. APIL has another 1,860 mw under various stages of construction and an additional 1,320 MW under planning (See table). Once the current portfolio is fully commissioned, the total operational capacity of APIL would cross 3,800 mw.
