Japanese Steelmakers Have Hiked Prices for Steel Long Products Substantially This Year

It's reported that the Japanese steelmakers have hiked prices for steel long products substantially since this year in order to reflect high input costs. Also, the stable demand from construction industry has supported the Japanese steelmakers to raise prices for steel long products successfully. In the first half of this year, Tokyo Steel have hiked its prices for H beams and rebar by ¥6,000/ton. At present, the prices for rebar with diameters of 16mm~25mm are at ¥60,000/ton; those for H beams with sizes of 148x 100~340 x 250 are at ¥74,000/ton.
