According to a statement released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), in November this year Turkey's crude steel production increased by 0.2 percent both on year-on-year and month-on-month basis to 3.084 million metric tons, after the 6.9 percent year-on-year increase recorded in October this year. During the first 11 months this year, Turkey's crude steel output decreased by 3.2 percent year on year to 31.98 million metric tons.
In November this year, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces increased by 1.6 percent year on year and by 1.5 percent month on month to 2.19 million metric tons, while production by blast furnaces increased by 6.8 percent year on year and decreased by 2.9 percent to 892,000 metric tons.
In the January-November period of this year, Turkey's crude steel output by electric arc furnaces declined 6.4 percent to 23 million metric tons, while production by blast furnaces increased by six percent to 8.98 million metric tons. In the same period, Turkey's billet output decreased by 2.4 percent to 24.348 million metric tons and its slab output fell 5.8 percent to 7.633 million metric tons, both compared to the same period of the previous year
