Chinese Vice Minister Gao Yan and the Vice Minister for International Affairs of Japanese Ministry of Economy, Industry and Trade (METI) Norihiko Ishiguro co-chaired the 16th regular ministerial meeting between MOFCOM and Japanese METI on April 24, 2015.
The two sides conducted frank talks on issues concerning the macro-economic situation of both countries, the trade and investment environment improvement and regional and multilateral cooperation, and reached extensive consensus on promoting to improve and develop the bilateral trade and economic cooperation and study to solve the problems along with the bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
The Chinese side proposed its concerns on issues concerning the Japan’s export control, food inspection and quarantine, the transportation of the traditional Chinese medicine to Japan, re-shoring of Japan’s manufacturing, long-term business visa facilitation and the China-Japan cooperation in PV industry. The Japanese side exchanged views with the Chinese side over recovering the bilateral exchange mechanism in trade and economy, the two-way investment, bilateral cooperation in IPR, and China’s policies on foreign-funded enterprises.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues like the China-Japan-ROK cooperation, the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
