President of China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce Bian Zhenhu attended the opening ceremony of China (Qinghai) International Carpet Exhibition 2015 and made a speech at the Forum on the Tibetan Carpet Development in Qinghai Province and Countries along the Silk and Road 2015 in Xining, Qinghai province on June 24-26, 2015. Themed on “communication, cooperation, innovation and development”, the exhibition set up 957 standard booths including 380 for domestic exhibitors and 377 for overseas exhibitors, with an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters. Enterprises from 13 countries including the world’s seven largest carpet production countries such as Pakistan, Iran, India, Nepal, Afghanistan, Turkey and China attended the exhibition and so did 88 enterprises in China.
President Bian Zhenhu said at the forum that as a national industrial association, the China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce should be based on the industrial situation, and collect industrial appeals and positive power. He put forth three initiatives: firstly, the industrial association is an important force for “belt and road” construction and he hoped to establish industrial communication and exchange mechanism through professional exhibition like the Tibetan carpet exhibition and that the industrial association should make active efforts to create more opportunities for bilateral business cooperation. Secondly, the CCCFNP would promote the carpets of countries along the “belt and road” through various platforms like the Shanghai International Carpet Exhibition and he hoped the relevant departments to actively engage in the activity. Thirdly, efforts would be made to support and promote the governmental departments of countries along the belt and road to attach more importance to the industrial development of carpet and put it on a higher position, give more capital and policy support so as to realize sustainable development of the industry.
