EFSA Is Asking Stakeholders and Other Parties to Submit The Information

The European Food safety Authority (EFSA) is asking stakeholders and other parties to submit the information on the toxicity and occurrence of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in certain food and animal feed.

Tetrahydrocannabinol is the key psychoactive constituent of the cannabis plant.

Data on toxicity of THC which have not been published in the public domain, but which could be useful to EFSA, are acceptable. Examples of these include national risk assessments or scientific reports.

Both occurrence and toxicity data will be used in the EFSA Scientific Opinion that will be published.

National Food Authorities, research institutions, food and feed business operators, academia and any other stakeholders are eligible to submit the data.

This call is a part of agency's effort to continuously monitor the occurrence of chemical contamination in food and feed.
