The Mechanism Would Assess The Quantity and Tractability of The Material Recycle

EuCertPlast, a certification scheme for implementing post-consumer plastics recycling that would also promote eco-friendly products for consumers, has released a new standard that uses the current CEN standard 14343 as its base.

The mechanism would be used to assess the quantity and tractability of the material recycle while ensuring that the recycling phase occurred in an environmentally sound manner.

As brands are reportedly turning their attention to greener packaging alternatives, the latest scheme falls in line and would hopefully boast plastics recycling targets in Europe.

The work around the scheme has been conducted by the European Plastics Recyclers (EuPR), and the European Association of Plastics Recycling and Recovery Organisations (EPRO), in tandem with the European plastics Converters (EuPC).

EuPC managing director Alexandre Dangis advised those who bought post-consumer plastics recyclates to ask for the EuCertPlast Certificate from their suppliers, and grants a suitable auditing scheme by getting access to plastics waste, other than national systems.
