Guangzhou, November 22 (China News Agency)-The Vice Premier of Chinese State Council Wang Yang said on November 22 that China understands and will settle the concerns of foreign investors over transparency timely.
Wang Yang made these remarks when addressing the China Provinces-U.S. States Economic and Trade Conference and B2B Dialogue. This activity was held during the period of the 26th China-US Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade. US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and the Trade Representative Michael Froman attended this activity.
Wang Yang emphasized that Chinese government devotes itself to building a fair, transparent and expectable market environment and promoting the legalization, internationalization and facilitation of the environment of business. China understands and will settle the concerns of foreign investors over transparency timely, take the appeals of the foreign enterprises in all when formulating policies, and will give enough period for public commentary before the coming out of the policies. Besides, China will actively accept the reasonable suggestions proposed by the foreign enterprises, respect and guarantee the rights of foreign enterprises to apply for administrative reconsideration and actively provide convenience for foreign enterprises to acquire judicial remedy and lawyer service.
Wang pointed out that Chinese enterprises have been positively assessing the investment environment of the United States, hoping that the United States can remove the obstacles in the aspects such as visa, financing, participating in the infrastructural construction, and merging the safety review. China also hoped that the US would treat Chinese enterprises especially the state-owned enterprises in a fair way.
Wang Yang positively evaluated the role of enterprises of the two countries in promoting the continuous development of China-US trade and economic relationship. He pointed out that since the reform and opening up, China has two principal lines to build the modern enterprise system: one is to develop multiple non-public sectors of the economy; the other is to constantly promote the reform of the SOEs to build the modern enterprise system.
Wang Yang pointed out that it hasn’t been long since China started to build a modern enterprise system, but the progress is fast. It is amazing that China has only spent dozens of years in building the enterprise system while Western enterprises have spent hundreds of years. The governance of Chinese enterprises needs to boldly draw on the experience of developed countries while knowing what to choose and what to abandon. We need to be innovative according to China’s reality, instead of merely copying the western countries. And we can’t reach the goal in one step.
Pritzker and Froman said that the transparent and accountable government policies and the independent and transparent corporate governance are very important. The United States is willing to see China deepening the reform and opening up, promoting the legal construction and strengthening the innovation. The United States hopes that the governments of the two countries can enhance the interaction and promote the sustainable development of the trade and economic win-win cooperation between China and the United States.
