Stefano Pertegato’s Luminarium ceiling light allows its users to be able to enjoy a full day of normal sunlight, even in a room with no windows. The Luminarium is designed to mimic the patterns of the sun, where most lamps are stationary and shine with the same amount of light all day. This new lamp design gives it users lighting that is closest to the sun’s actual hourly light patterns.
Pertegato’s design was created to help stabilize office worker’s melatonin levels; which have been know to effect everything from moods to energy levels. This motorized work lamp runs on 12-hour cycles that mimic the movement, color, and intensity of the sun.
The Luminarium’s varied color and light levels allow for the user to feel what is like to be in the outside light while remaining indoors. By allowing melatonin levels to become more naturally in tune with the outside world this may boost the mood of your whole office! Watch the video below for a glimpse of how it works.
