Certification and labeling schemes of products are an important factor of successful market surveillance. The Euporean union has enacted two important labellings schemes in the field of energy and resource efficiency, revealing the compliance with European legislation. In addition to voluntary and mandatory schemes initiated by the EU, there are several national, European and international certification schemes to ensure that products are complaint with certain provision relating to the energy and resource efficiency. The rating and testing standards of the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute of the USA (AHRI) and the European Committee of Air Handling and Refrigeration Equipment Manufactures (Eurovent) were used as a basis for the Australian/New Zealand Standards for commercial chiller. The main objective of Eurovent and AHRI certified products is to determine the performance of factory made liquid chilling packages using vapour compression cycles to determine capacity, power and efficiency of equipment under a specific set of conditions.
AHRI certified mark
The AHRI certified programmes identifies heating, air conditioning and commercial refrigeration products which has been subject to third party certification of their performance ratings. Most of the manufacturers of air conditioning, heating and commercial refrigeration equipments and an internationally recognized advocate for an industry are represented by a trade association AHRI, the Air -conditioning, heating and refrigeration institute.
Eurovent certification programmes
Euro vent certification plays an important role in determining the performance ratings of air -conditioning and refrigeration products as per European and international standards. The main objective is to build up confidence of customers by equalizing the competitions for all manufacturers and increasing the integrity and accuracy of industrial performance ratings. Eurovent certifications is made up of different programmes, each corresponding to one type of refrigeration or air conditioning product. It is basically the guarantee of your products.
-that the air filters have been tested by independent laboratories.
-that the filters corresponds to the design specifications.
-that the filters you purchase comply with energy consumption levels stated.
The objective of Eurovent and AHRI Certified products
The object of the eurovent and AHRI certified programs is to enable the comparison of air filters by using an equivalent set of assessment criteria. Eurovent makes it easier for the customers to choose the right product by publishing the technical specification of certified filters. Therefore, they longer need to make comparison and extensive performance assessment for the product that they intend to purchase. As a customer, one can select products with the assurance that they are fully compliant with both applicable specification and Eurovent and AHRI certified requirements. Thus, for the manufacturers it is the common platform where the competition can take place on comparable basis of performances, for the benefit of specifiers and end users. For the end users, the product chosen works in conformity with the specified dimensioning. The life cycle cost of products should be according to the predictions and the material used should match with the investments calculated.
