Two Contracts Has Been Secured by Automaker Renault to Supply EV

Automaker Renault has secured two contracts to supply electric vehicles (EV) to the Union des Groupements d'Achats Publics (UGAP), a public procurement group, in France.

Under the contract, the company will deliver 2,100 vehicles in the next three years to the government and public authorities of France.

The vehicles to be supplied include 2000 units of Renault ZOE under the for the 'Versatile 4-seater electric vehicle' category and 100 units of Fluence Z.E. under the 'Compact electric sedan' category.

Bids for the contract were called in October 2012.

With the addition of the new contract the total EVs to be supplied by the company to UGAP in next three years has reached over 17,000 units, from which 15,000 Kangoo Z.E. vehicles are presently being delivered by the automaker.

The company claims that the ZOE offers range of 210km with everyday use range of 100km to 150km depending on driving style and weather conditions.

Features of the EV include the Range OptimiZEr system, new-generation regenerative braking, a heat pump and MICHELIN Energy EV tires.
