Optical oxygen sensor systems manufacturer OxySense has announced the launch of its new Sidewinder Invasive Measurement Needle, which allows users to measure headspace and dissolved oxygen in closed and opaque containers.
According to the company, users can perforate rigid containers such as cans, bottles and PET packages and flex packs with the new the needle and take measurements with the OxySense system and technology used for the non-invasive tests and permeation studies.
The Sidewinder uses the OxyDot Sensor (O2xyDot) and does not extract a sample to take a reading, thereby minimizing the possibility of pulling in external oxygen considerably and contaminating the sample.
Each Sidewinder Needle is built of heavy gauge stainless steel and is good for measurements, even in metal cans or through metal caps. The user friendly needle is suitable for lab resources.
OxySense manufactures optical oxygen sensor systems for the packaging, packing and processing industries.
