Skoda Has Commenced Production of Its Next Generation Skoda Superb

Skoda has commenced production of its next generation Skoda Superb at the company’s Kvasiny facility in Czech Republic.

The company has expanded the production buildings and production areas of the factory to manufacture the next generation car.

Skoda also invested CZK 1.7bn ($65m) at the new body production facility that has been put into operation for the production of the third generation Superb.

According to the Czech automaker, the Kvasiny plant currently employs 4,500 people, and in 2014, 166,200 vehicles were produced in Kvasiny; including Roomster and Yeti.

The new Skoda Superb has improved deign and safety features when compared to its predecessors, and has been designed to be more spacious and become one of the top end mid-class segment cars.

Skoda Production and Logistics board member Michael Oeljeklaus said: "We are delighted that it is now under way. Starting production of the new Superb is a fantastic and emotional moment for the whole company and in particular, for the Kvasiny plant.

"The production of this fantastic car proves the high levels of competence of the plant and its employees.

The company is planning to launch the new Superb in June this year.
