Taigang Stainless, the largest stainless steel producer in China announced to raise its domestic prices for stainless steel coils by RMB500/ton for February shipments. After the adjustment, the company’s ex-work prices for 304 grade hot rolled stainless coils and sheets with thickness of 3mm~12mm are at RMB18,500/ton; those for 304 grade cold rolled stainless steel coils and sheets with thickness of 2mm are at RMB19,500/ton and those for 430 grade cold rolled stainless steel coils and sheets with thickness of 2mm are at RMB10,700/ton. It’s learned that Taigang Stainless decided to hike its domestic prices for February as it expected strong demand in February and March. Also, the price rise is to reflect the higher prices of raw materials such as chrome and iron ore.
