Constantia Flexibles has signed a deal to acquire global manufacturer of labels Spear Group, as part of its international growth strategy.
According to the Austrian flexible packaging group, the acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and constitutes a basis for further growth and expansion in the global labels market.
Spear CEO Rick Spear said by joining forces with Constantia Flexibles the company will be able to offer increased opportunities to its customers.
"This combination will enhance our leadership position in the technological development of pressure sensitive labeling for primary brand decoration," Spear said.
US-based Spear, which supplies pressure sensitive labels for the beverage industry, has four facilities in North America, one site in Europe, one in South Africa and a sales office in Singapore.
