The scheme, which currently operates within the M25, provides a cost-efficient collection and recycling service to help paper cup manufacturers and organisations operating within the supply chain reduce their operating costs and improve their environmental credentials.
Neil Whittall, commercial and contracts director, Huhtamaki (UK), said many customers enquire about a paper cup recycling service.
"We are proud to be able to offer our customers the help and assistance they need in order for them to inform their customers about how the market is able to deal with products after their use within the foodservice environment; and it is through our involvement with both of these schemes that we are able to further drive our dedication and commitment to helping find solutions.”
Huhtamaki said it is able to provide customers with information on the sustainability of its products, such as the use of 100% PEFC paper board material.
Huhtamaki’s UK manufacturing also features a commitment to quality (ISO9001), and health and safety (ISO18001) – dedication to responsible manufacturing which led Huhtamaki to become the first UK cup manufacturer to achieve ISO 14001 environmental accreditation.
