Cadillac, a luxury automobile and SUV division of General Motors, is planning to unveil the third generation of CTS at the New York International Auto Show that will be held from 29 March to 7 April 2013 in the US.
The vehicle is expected to be powered by an optional 3.6L direct-injected V6 engine that generates 318hp and 275lbft of torque.
Cadillac global vice president Bob Ferguson was quoted by the Detroit Free Press as saying: "We are positioning that car as a step up, so there will be a marketing challenge to reposition that car."
Body styles in which the vehicle is expected to arrive include the sedan, coupe or wagon, while the CTS-V performance model of the car is expected to have a 556hp V8 engine.
The car is expected to be launched by fall of 2013.
In addition, the company also plans to launch the redesigned Escalade SUV and the new ELR plug-in hybrid coupe in early 2014.
