DS Smith’s UK packaging division has made a £12m investment within its sheetfeeding business.
The development features a new £2.8m corrugator, installation of high-tech materials handling lines together with the complete refurbishment of the company’s Blunham site, designed for shorter lead times featuring a comprehensive range of board grades.
Adrian Swindells, sheetfeeding managing director for DS Smith, said it was important for the corrugated giant to adopt ‘leading edge’ equipment to meet increasing customer quality and service needs.
“Not only do we want to invest in the very latest technology and working practices, we want to ensure DS Smith’s proposition is future-proof as our customers’ requirements evolve,” he said.
