Finnish pulp and paper manufacturer Stora Enso has announced the launch of Ecoboard Plus, a new linerboard from its Barcelona Mill in Spain, which adds to the company’s selection of boards that are made of recycled material.
The new 230gsm linerboard, Ecoboard Plus is the fourth board brand from Barcelona Mill along with three Triplex brands that are available in a number of different grammages.
According to the company, the multi-layer board Ecoboard Plus, which can be used as the liner of e or f-sized microflute board, will be produced to serve the Southern and Western European market, especially.
Suitable end uses for packages made of the linerboard range from bag-in-box wine packages to durable boxes for toys or various electric or electronic devices.
Stora Enso for Spain and Portugal sales director Juan Torras said the company's new board, which has already been tested by a few customers, has better brightness and whiteness compared to other boards produced at the mill and is a sustainable alternative for packaging.
"Market needs forced us to rethink and develop this high quality product, which complies with our mission to be an environmentally friendly board producer," Torras said.
Stora Enso Barcelona Mill has a certified FSC Chain-of-Custody system and has the capacity to deliver FSC certified products, including the new Ecoboard Plus.
