Wrap launched the latest commitment this week and aims to reduce household food and drink waste by 5% and reduce packaging waste in the supply chain by 3%. A total of 45 signatories, including all major grocery retailers, have joined the third phase.
In a statement, Incpen said that it was pleased that Wrap recognised that optimised packaging saves waste. The organisation added: "Reducing waste of food and other products is the prime purpose of packaging – it's why our members use it.? Packaging protects products from farm or factory to home and it performs a number of other functions that make life easier and benefit the environment.
"Launching the third phase of the Courtauld Commitment today,?Wrap has also signalled that it wants companies to focus on tackling one of the biggest environmental impacts – reducing?food waste.? Incpen supports this and has worked closely with Wrap as a partner in the successful Fresher for Longer Campaign."
