The Klockner Pentaplast Group has launched a new pharmaceutical laminated barrier film production line at its site in Villa Del Totoral, Argentina.
The laminating line, which involved an investment of $3.3m, is set to expand the company's production capacity of Pentapharm ACLAR PVC/PCTFE films and high barrier Pentafood films.
According to the company, the line will also provide shorter lead times for its customers in the region, while locally supplying material structures, which were earlier available only on an import basis from its US and European facilities.
Klockner Pentaplast/Americas president and COO Michael Tubridy said the company is positioned well to support its customers' growth and explore new film solutions for meeting their packaging needs by providing additional capacity and new material structures.
"The most recent investment in pharmaceutical barrier film capacity further demonstrates our commitment to the Argentine and South American markets," Tubridy added.
Klockner offers packaging, printing, and specialty solutions for the pharmaceutical, medical device, food, beverage and card markets.
