Cascades' Norampac Division Has Acquired Bird Packaging's Converting,Storage Facilities

Canadian packaging company Cascades’ Norampac division has acquired Bird Packaging's converting and storage facilities in Guelph, Kitchener and Windsor in Ontario.

The latest investment is part of Norampac's development strategy which aims to expand its geographical presence in Ontario, Canada.

Norampac president and CEO Marc-André Dépin said the acquisition will allow the company to broaden its market reach in Ontario by integrating plants.

"The addition of Bird's production plants to Norampac's assets, in line with our strategic plan, will help us to reach our target with the expansion of our spectrum of products and services in terms of corrugated, high standards of printing and packaging solutions, just to name a few", Dépin added.

Bird also has equipment and a vast line of products and services that complement Norampac's product offering, besides good customer base.

The parties have not disclosed the financial terms of the transaction.

Bird Packaging specializes in the fabrication of corrugated boxes of all sizes and grades, floor displays and products with high standards of printing.
