Fresh and frozen baked goods manufacturer and marketer Gold Standard Baking has announced the recall of its Sweet P's Bake Shop branded Caramel Apple Danish Coffee Cake over labeling issue.
Gold Standard recalled 1,134 cases of Sweet P's Bake Shop branded Caramel Apple Danish Coffee Cake after discovering that the product contained walnuts and was distributed in packaging that did not reveal its presence.
The product, which was manufactured on 02-03-2013 and 03-06-2013, was distributed to nationwide food retailers. Lot code is first six digits that is printed on end of clamshell packaging.
People with allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts and other tree nuts are expected to run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product, the company said.
