Tyson Foods has recalled 70,500 pounds of canned Premium Chunk Chicken produced by a co-packer and packed in 12.5oz cans, over labeling issue.
About 24 cans produced on 18 May 2012 were mislabeled and actually contained Beef with Gravy that contains wheat and is a potential allergen.
Tyson Foods said the company has accounted for 14 of the 24 cans, however, it is recalling all cans of chunk chicken produced that day, as a precautionary measure.
The mislabeled product contains the date code 8965 248A 12139 printed directly on the end of each can, which also has a 'best by' date of 18 May 2015.
The affected cans have been shipped by the US-based processor and marketer of chicken, beef, and pork to food retailers and distribution centers in various states across the country.
