Taiwan-based vertically-integrated LED firm Lextar Electronics has reported consolidated revenues of NT$1.176 billion (US$38.9 million) for April, increasing 4.76% on month but decreasing 5% on year. January-April consolidated revenues grew 7.14% on year to NT$4.398 billion.
LED backlight unit (BLU) shipments to China-based makers for direct-type backlit LCD TVs and LED flashes to China-based smartphone makers in April increased significantly on month, Lextar said, adding LED lighting module shipments to Europe-based OEM clients began in April.
Lextar said it will expand LED packaging capacity in May and June.
