Pride Foods Is Recalling Approximately 116,404 Pounds of Beef Pattie and Chub Products

US-based Pride Foods is recalling approximately 116,404 pounds of beef pattie and chub products as they contain soy which is not declared on the labels, according to the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The recall affects 10lb. cases of 3, 4, and 6 oz. Savory Beef Patties; 10lb. cases of 4oz. Beef Patties, which were exported to the Bahamas and distributed throughout the Caribbean.

In addition, the recall covers 24lb. cases of 1lb. Beef Pattie Mix chubs which were distributed to a food bank in Pennsylvania.

These products were produced between 1 December 2012, and 27 August 2013 and bear the establishment number 'EST. 18506' inside the USDA Mark of Inspection.

The problem was discovered by an FSIS personnel during a routine label review before export and is believed to have occurred due to an error after using a unique label for one customer. The affected products contain Textured Vegetable Protein formulated with soy which was not mentioned on the products' labels.

FSIS and Pride Foods have to date received no reports of reactions due to consumption of these products.
