German carmaker Volkswagen has reported 8.9% rise in its worldwide sales to 4.45 million units during the January-June 2012 when compared to the same period in 2011.
The Group's sales increased 1.8% to 1.93 million vehicles in Europe, while in Western Europe, excluding Germany, the sales were 1.01 million vehicles.
In Central Europe and Eastern European region the company sold 322,900 vehicles during the period.
In the carmaker's home market of Germany, sales increased 4.4% to 606,100 units in January-June 2012 period.
Volkswagen's sales in the American continent recorded positive sales with 22.1% rise to 389,800 units in North America and 469,500 units were sold in South America region during the same period.
Sales in Asia-Pacific region rose 17.6% to 1.48 million vehicles in the first six months.
The German carmaker said that the worldwide sales in June 2012 also increased 11% to 798,500 units, when compared to 719,400 vehicles sold during the same period last year.
