Non-profit organization GreenBlue has announced the addition of a standardized packaging design assessment service to its Advisory Services offerings.
The new service is beneficial for companies interested in designing sustainable packaging as they can take advantage of it to receive an environmental life cycle profile of new packaging formats or an overall assessment of their existing packaging portfolios.
In order to perform the assessments, GreenBlue will leverage its COMPASS (Comparative Packaging Assessment) software tool
According to the company, the service is being offered for primary or secondary packaging options.
GreenBlue sustainable solutions senior manager Minal Mistry said the COMPASS assessment method and data have been examined by independent verification and member companies of its Sustainable Packaging Coalition.
"COMPASS helps incorporate life cycle thinking into the packaging decision process," said, and the tool's primary architect," Mistry said.
