Datsun, a Japanese subsidiary of the car manufacturer Nissan, has unveiled the new Datsun GO that is scheduled to be available from early 2014 in India.
The five-door hatchback is powered by a 1.2L engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission that is claimed to provide optimal response time and agility in congested traffic.
Datsun GO comes with a front-wheel drive and is expected to meet the requirements of the consumers who want better value propositions.
The vehicle will feature mobile docking station that allows users to connect the car's infotainment system with their smartphones, ample headroom and an expanded front seating configuration.
Nissan will produce the hatchback at one of the new Renault-Nissan Alliance factories located at Oragadam, in Chennai.
The vehicle will be launched later in 2014 in Indonesia, Russia and South Africa markets and its models are expected to follow.
