The JAC automotive car was one of the earliest companies to entry into Brazil to expand their business in China. According to the announcement in October 2011, the company decided to invest 900 million reais (about 500 million dollars) to build a car assembly plant in the state of Bahia in northeastern Brazil. The announcement said that the car assembly plant is expected to be commissioned in 2014. If Brazil plant could go into operation, which will bring the JAC Brazilian business an expectation larger performance boost.
According to the policy introduced by the Brazilian government in 2011, the industrial products tax (IPI tax) is increased by 30% percentage points.
JAC annual report showed that the company's 2012 net profit was 495 million yuan, down 20.31% year on year, the company sold various types of vehicles and chassis about 465,100 cars, down 2.62%. The main factor was the slowdown of the industry and the decline in exports in Brazil.
Currently, JAC Brazilian partners SHC is the first customer for the JAC.
