Germany-based rigid polyester films Klockner Pentaplast has added Pentafood BPET films to its Pentafood film range for frozen food applications.
The new films are ideal for deep-draw, tray and blister thermoformed applications and are designed to be used in conditions as low as -20° C.
The films are available in mono and multi-layer structures of BPET, BPET/PE, BPET/EVOH/PE, as well as BPET light films. They have better sealing properties and multiple sealant options such as permanent or easy-peel seals.
These films are offered in a wide range of standard opaque colors and are suitable for modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). They also run on standard thermoforming and form/fill/seal equipment.
All Pentafood BPET films comply with respective EU regulations and directives, as well as the applicable national legislation and international standards.
Klockner Pentaplast Europe packaging product manager Gabriele Moesges-Haas said that Pentafood BPET films were developed to help meet customers' needs for an APET film with enhanced processing efficiency.
"The expansion of our Pentafood food packaging film range to include these unique films continues to provide our customers with the broadest selection of high-performance films available in the global marketplace today," Moesges-Haas added.
Headquartered in Montabaur, Germany, Klockner Pentaplast is wholly owned by the Strategic Value Partners Investor Group and manufactures films for pharmaceutical, medical device, food, electronics, and general-purpose thermoform packaging, as well as printing and specialty applications.
